Representações sociais de tabagistas sobre a recidiva ao tabagismo: uma pesquisa convergente assistencial

Abstract

The study aimed to know and analyze the social representations of smokers who relapsed after a period of smoking cessation (PCT). Qualitative research, with the participation of 27 people who participated in at least one smoking group and relapsed after cessation of smoking. The data were analyzed considering the Theory of Social Representations and according to the technique of Content Analysis. Four categories of analysis were elaborated: cigarette representations for the user of the product; triggers to return to smoking; representation of the health unit for the participants and difficulties faced in the PCT. After analyzing the interviews, 24 Nursing Diagnoses and 20 Interventions were enrolled, which subsidized the elaboration of the smoking group. The technique used in this phase was the Convergent Care Research. Ten people were invited to the group, but only seven attended the first meetings, and of these seven, all could remain non-smoking until the end of this investigation. This research contributes to reflections and advancement of the knowledge in the care field to the tobacco user, considering all the relevance that the theme presents.
