Abstract

Based on professional experience in a prison unit in Juiz de Fora, the objective of this work is to implant a feminist empowerment project and rescue of African ancestry and Afrodescendant self-esteem through the participation of these women in hair braiding workshops, Connected to female vanity. In addition to these workshops, issues of African and Afro-Brazilian History will be discussed through the use of children's literature on the subject of hair and other textbooks on the subject and on the History of Africa. Because it is an environment where funds are not available for this type of activity, partnerships will be reached with civil society for the development of the project. Special attention will be given to the commemorative dates during the year that are directed to the female audience, although the objective is that the project be performed monthly.
