O livro vermelho de Carl Gustav Jung: da imaginação ativa à função transcendente

Abstract

This study proposes a bibliographical analysis of parts of The Red Book: Liber Novus, from Carl Gustav Jung. It seeks to understand how active imagination, the original foundation for the production of Liber Novus, can promote the transcendent function. To analyze how Jung's exercise with the polarities of the psyche in the Liber Novus and the experience with the numinous takes place, based on directed fantasies. What discoveries did Jung make through this inner experience. For this, we seek to understand how both the transcendent function and the active imagination are creative dynamics capable of transforming the relationship between consciousness and unconscious, providing greater integration to the personality in order to bring about healthier states of consciousness. Throughout the text, we will discuss central concepts for clarifying these two dynamics, with the ultimate goal of understanding and analyzing symbolically whether there is a correspondence between these two processes. In this way, a more attentive study of Jung's Red Book is central, since in it the author experienced the exercise of the active imagination method and the motto for the theoretical foundation on the transcendent function.
