Encontros e desencontros na percepção da comunidade acadêmica sobre o Campus Avançado de Governador Valadares da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

Abstract

The present study investigated the perception of the Academic Community of the Advanced Campus of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in Governador Valadares in its dimensions of Infrastructure, Teaching, Research, Extension, Management, Inter-campus relationship, and Organizational Culture. The segments that participated in the research, responding to the questionnaires, were: students, teachers and administrative education technicians (TAEs) from the Advanced Campus itself, with the objective of measuring the perception, quantitatively and with the methodological tool of the Semantic Differential (OSGOOD, 1957), of these three segments in the investigated spheres and obtain enlightening graphs about the proximity and distance between them. The results suggest harmony between the three segments in the more positive perception of the teaching, extension and management scale. In the research dimension, students and TAEs had a more harmonious and positive perception, while teachers in some semantic pairs differed negatively from the other two segments. In the Inter-campus relationship, we had the most negative perceptions among the three segments, while in infrastructure the perception of teachers and TAEs were more negative and harmonious and students with a neutral perception converging to a more positive perception in the dirty-clean pair between the three segments. Organizational culture had harmonic but parallel curves between the three segments, with teachers perceiving this dimension more negatively. As this is a survey of trends in the curves of the graphs, future research can seek the reasons why the evaluations of the perceptions of students, teachers, and administrative technicians in education distance themselves or come closer together, as they are contrasted with each other.
