A formação docente na Educação Inclusiva: um olhar sobre o curso de pedagogia da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

Abstract

The present work aimed to investigate how initial training has been taking place, in the degree in Pedagogy at the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF), with regard to the approach to themes that include inclusion in education. To this end, a bibliographic survey was carried out on the concept of inclusion in education, in addition to the analysis of documents, namely: the Education Guidelines and Bases Law, the Brazilian Inclusion Law, the National Guidelines for Teacher Training, the Project Institutional Policy for UFJF Degrees and institutional documents relating to the UFJF Pedagogy course. The article also brings a reflection on Inclusive Education, pointing out that there are still many barriers to be overcome in order to implement public policies that, in a way, work very well in theory, but in practice are still far from the reality of what teachers and students with disabilities experience within schools. In relation to the Pedagogy course, we concluded that the discussion on Inclusive Education is restricted to the subjects that address this topic, namely: Education and Diversity I and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS). In this way, students experience training in a very restricted area.
