Direito à educação e a desigualdade social: acesso, qualidade e permanência em um ensino universalizado e diversificado na rede educacional de Juiz de Fora

Abstract

This monograph presents some analyses about the right to education and the implications of social inequality in this constitutionally guaranteed fundamental guarantee, focusing on the dimensions of access, quality and permanence brought by Professor Carlota Boto. For this, the research is based on the analysis of statistical data on education, giving special emphasis to the municipality of Juiz de Fora, and also makes a bibliographic study of scientific papers produced on this theme. The research explores how the relationship between inequality and education is presented and how it affects students' learning, through the educational barriers faced by students from minority groups. Furthermore, the work fosters the discussion about the consequences of this inequality-education relationship in the construction of critical knowledge, universalized and egalitarian, of the student in all social perspectives, in order to ensure the full diversification of the school environment and the development of society. It is noteworthy that the present work does not have the objective of exhausting the subject, but only seeks to boost some reflections and notes on the importance of the social right to education for the mitigation of existing social inequalities. On this basis, the analysis made in this research is necessary since it is essential to guarantee the social right to education to all individuals, aiming at the economic social development of the whole society.
