Risco de adoecimento no trabalho: um estudo sobre como o ambiente de trabalho afeta a saúde mental dos policiais penais do presídio de Nova Era/MG

Abstract

The present study aims at analyzing the experience of the criminal policeman at the Nova Era Prison Unit in the state of Minas Gerais. Through the perception of the criminal police officers, to investigate how the function, the experiences and the work environment interfere in the mental health of the worker and, with the data collected, to identify which actions can be taken in order to avoid the worker's illness. The nature of this study is qualitative and descriptive, interviews were held with 24 workers, two of whom were directors of the prison unit, 17 criminal police officers, and 5 hired by the State. Through this study it is possible to affirm that the prison system contributes to the professional's illness and that a deeper analysis is necessary, as well as replication in other prison units.
