Relações entre humanos e silvestres no Cetas JF: pensando com-vivências

Abstract

This thesis is the result of ethnographic investigations and interviews on the relationships between humans and "wild" animals at the Centro de Triagem de Animais Silvestres of Juiz de Fora (Cetas - JF) between 2017 and 2019. The Cetas receive wild animals from inspections, rescues and voluntary deliveries. These animals undergo screening, assessment and necessary care in order to return to natural environment (which is not always possible). These procedures are guided by protocols for working with fauna and by the humans who work in Cetas. In search of how workers at Cetas JF and the wild animals that arrive at the service relate to each other, it was possible to observe and experience how these relationships go beyond the protocols of working with the fauna and unfold at other levels, permeating and transforming the lives of those involved, both human and non-human. These transformations unfold, in turn, in human actions of involvement and dedication around these animals and also around a “wild cause”.
