Medidas Protetivas de Urgência: uma observação participante na Casa da Mulher em Juiz de Fora (MG)

Abstract

This paper intends to investigate the “restraining order” foreseen in the Law 11.340 / 06, Maria da Penha Law. The research methodology used was qualitative of ethnographic inspiration and molds in the "participant observation", from the execution of a field work in the Casa da Mulher Centro de Referência of Juiz de Fora - MG. In addition, semi-structured script interviews were conducted with women in situations of domestic and family violence who were attended at the institution in question. Thus, we sought to understand the dynamics of the operation of the Maria da Penha Law in Juiz de Fora - MG after the Casa da Mulher creation in 2013. It was assumed that the “restraining order” is seen as what is most “desired” among the parties who make their request, that is, both by the professionals who work at the House, as by the women served. Thus, the objective here was, more specifically, to think and debate about the process of constructing “restraining order” requests from the experience in the entity, as well as to reflect and discuss how the women assisted understand and manage the violence suffered and the “restraining order” provided for in Law. From the research it was found that there was an important change in the flow and institutional dynamics of cases of violence against women treated in the city, since Casa da Mulher became the “entryway” of this sort of crime.
