Game of Torrents: pirataria e cultura de fãs em Game of Thrones

Abstract

This work seeks to understand how piracy is established within a community of fans using clipping as fans of Game of Thrones in Brazil. For this we start from the place of an aca-fan developing a theoretical investigation of the themes, thus establishing common points between anarchy, the desire for the dissemination of content and the understanding of community. Subsequently, we applied, for three consecutive years, a quantitative research to understand how these fans behaved in the face of the recurring leaks of episodes of the series and who these fans were, believing that data collection is a structural basis for the qualitative and theoretical argumentation. We emphasize here mainly the demonstration that although the efforts of the producer of a massive content is incisive the standard operation of the fandom prevails.
