Docilizando as desviantes: como o encarceramento feminino alimenta o ciclo da vulnerabilidade socioeconômica de mulheres periféricas

Abstract

The objective of this article is to perform a theoretical incursion in the bibliographical production of Criminal Sciences and Feminist critical thought. Their historical trajectories will be analysed, as well as the urgency of the product of their intersections. To achieve this objective, a bibliographical study regarding the social construction of gender roles will be initially carried out, leaning on Simone de Beauvoir (1970) and María Lugones (2010), in order to pursue a decolonial perspective on gender. Subsequently, a foucauldian analysis of the process of docilizing bodies is proposed, taking up the construction of bodies as a political arena, specially regarding the functions of punishment. The alliance between criminology and data analysis assists to comprehend the judicial and social structures that maintain racial and gender hierarchy, which has remodelled itself throughout the centuries but remains accomplishing its objective. The punishment of women is observed not only for transgressing a judicial law, but also a moral one. Furthermore, the role of the war on drugs regarding this mechanism is analysed, revealing the collapse of the public security policy put into action by the Brazilian state since the 1990’s.
