Ginga para aprender história da África: jogo como recurso de aprendizagem

Abstract

The official education of Afro-Brazilian History and Culture, in the country's public school system curriculum, is a landmark in the sense of introducing in Brazilian education the appreciation and participation of other cultures, besides the European one. Africa is an immense continent, occupied by many peoples who present a great cultural diversity, allowing a wealth of possibilities incomparable. The work of African History with primary school students aims to analyze the identity of African peoples, historical, cultural and social knowledge, to enable students to have a positive view of Africa, since in many textbooks, the African continent only appears when the subject is slavery and in the media as a synonym of poverty and backwardness. In the face of this lack, this work presents an alternative of didactic material on African culture, society and history capable of introducing the theme in a light and relaxed way, more precisely in the form of an activity book that addresses various aspects and themes about Africa. In this context, the work presents researches with educational games whose purpose is to evaluate these instruments and to extend the possibility of their use as an educational tool, since they present motivating functions extremely relevant to learning.
