Reflexões sobre o trabalho dos/das assistentes sociais na Unimed do município de Juiz de Fora/MG

Abstract

At the end of 2018, Brazil presented an increase in the formal employability rate of private health care providers, another indicator is that more than half of the contracts come from corporate collective plans, that is, the working class itself. Nowadays, before the advance of the capital restructuring and the neoliberal offensive, the social worker occupies places different from those linked to his historical trajectory in the country. In the midst of the deconstruction of the social rights historically won by workers, among them health, the health plan operators are placed as an alternative to provide health services, guided by the logic of commodification of health, where the subjects become their consumers. From this, this work aims to reflect if there are, in fact, answers / strategies committed to the service users' needs, in the work of the social workers at Unimed in the city of Juiz de Fora. If they exist, how they are set up and grounded. This is a qualitative research, carried out through bibliographical and field research. The bibliographic research carried out through the analysis of theoretical references relevant to the object of study and field. The second, carried out through interviews guided by semi-structured script with the help of tape recorder and transcription. In the first place, we analyze the category of labor, its conformation in the capitalist mode of production, and its specificities in the advance of neoliberalism in Brazil. For this, we use as main references: Karl Marx, György Lukács, Agustín Cueva, Ruy Mauro Marini, Maria Lúcia Barroco, David Harvey and Ricardo Antunes. In the second chapter, we deal specifically with the development of Health Policy in Brazil, and the historical relation of coexistence of private interests in the public sphere. We identified the process of reconfiguration of the Health Policy and the polarization between the two main health projects in the country: neoliberal privatized health, based on the favoring of capital and the incentive to the citizenconsumer and another, the Sanitary Reform, with defense of democracy, of expanding popular participation, linked to a project of alternative social reform. In the third chapter, we analyze the main elements of the job of Social Service in companies, especially in the supplementary health sector, we also point out, reflections from the professionals' speeches.
