Negreiro, negrismo, negritude: uma proposta de letramento literário e racial a partir da análise das vozes poéticas no poema “O navio negreiro” de Castro Alves e na canção ”Boa esperança” de Emicida

Abstract

The present study, developed with students in the third year of upper secondary education, presentsa proposal for pedagogical practices that articulate the teaching and learning of literaturewitheducation for ethnic-racial relations, aiming at the formation of critical readers and the promotionofan antiracist education. Based on a comparative reading of the poem “The Slave Ship” (Onavionegreiro), by Castro Alves, and the lyrics of the song “Boa Esperança”, by the rapper Emicida, thisstudy seeks to analyze the poetic voices present in both texts, highlighting the re-significationoftheslave ship, which shifts from a symbol of death and oppression to an emblemof struggle, resistance,and the affirmation of Black people. For this analysis, an understanding of the conceptsofNegrismo and Negritude, as well as their developments in Brazilian literature, is essential.Methodologically, the study is grounded in action research, as proposed by Thiollent (1986), andarticulated with theoretical contributions by Candido (1995) and Petit (2024) on theright toliterature; Cosson (2022; 2024) in the field of literary literacy; Street (2014) on multiple literacies;Bento (2022) and Schucman (2022) in studies on whiteness; and Oliveira (2014), Munanga(2012),Cuti (2010), and Bernd (1988) regarding Negrismo, Negritude, and Afro-Brazilian literature. It isbelieved that this proposal contributes to the aesthetic appreciation of reading, the learningofliterature, and a critical understanding of the historical roots of racism in contemporaryBraziliansociety.
