Interseção entre psicologia e entomologia: desenvolvimento de uma coleção de moda autoral inspirada no narcisismo e no louva-a-deus

Abstract

This final paper for the Bachelor's degree in Fashion at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora aims to create an authorial fashion collection named: Narcissistic Metamorphosis, for the brand ATOMO, for the Fall|Winter 2025 season. Drawing inspiration from two fields of knowledge: psychology and entomology, twelve looks were created, resulting from the intersection between Narcissistic Personality Disorder and the Idolomantis Diabolica insect species. The collection is developed from the creation of the ATOMO brand, aligned with research analyses on macro trend and micro trends for the year 2024. Using a multidisciplinary methodology, the sketches were created through studies of the anatomy, colors, and behaviors of the mentioned praying mantis, as well as the characteristics and history of narcissism, highlighting the figurative and metaphorical relationships that can be established between them. At the conclusion of this work, the development and creation of four clothing pieces, which make up three looks of the collection, are presented, reflecting the research and theoretical development of this study.
