| Resumo: | A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar, através da figura dos Castrati, a relação entre a música e a religião. Por meio da metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica, buscou-se entender os fatores que culminaram para o nascimento desta comitiva e seus impactos dentro da Igreja e da sociedade. Os cantores emasculados nasceram no seio da Igreja em um momento de mudanças dentro da mesma e de transformações sociais. De tal forma, a música pela via dos Castrati tornou-se palco para complexas mudanças dentro da instituição e na população que estava sendo influenciada pelo Capitalismo. Pela via da relação entre música e religião, a pesquisa contempla entender os aspectos sociais e psicológicos que se faziam presentes na vida do homem no período de atuação dos Castrati, e a forma pela qual os mesmos se escreveram na história como lenda que representa o ápice do bel canto. |
| Abstract: | This research aims to analyze, through the figure of the Castrati, the relationship between music and religion. Through the methodology of bibliographic research, we sought to understand the factors that culminated in the birth of this group and its impacts within the Church and society. The emasculated singers were born within the Church at a time of changes within it and of social transformations. In this way, music through the Castrati became the stage for complex changes within the institution and in the population that was being influenced by Capitalism. Through the relationship between music and religion, the research aims to understand the social and psychological aspects that were present in the life of man during the period of the Castrati's activity, and the way in which they wrote themselves into history as a legend that represents the pinnacle of bel canto. |
