Singularidades queer: exercícios de montagem cine-literária

Abstract

The present dissertation consists of a transdisciplinary study between cinema and literature, or an exercise of cine-literary editing marked by the will of knowledge, which aims to investigate queer singularities as a sign, taking into account historical and potential developments regarding their representation. In order to do so, writing will be deployed as an editing tool for video records of queer characters, conceived prior by the author, alongside multidisciplinary studies to comprehend its context and its relationship with literary theories. The following study is subdivided in three chapters, the first one regarding the proposed framework, the questions surrounding the theme under the elected lenses and how they will be approached. The second chapter is composed by the transcriptions of the video records, captured between April and September of 2018, in cities of Brazil’s northeastern region, and by the effort to expand upon the understandings of exchanges between sexuality, its representation and the social context in which they are immersed. The final one aims to describe the questions and understandings that surfaced in this editing process, while considering the study itself as a means of representation standing on its own.
