Avaliação interna de um programa de iniciação científica: um caso da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora - UFJF

Abstract

The present work aimed to conduct an analysis and reflection on the Institutional Scientific Initiation Program of UFJF and propose an Educational Action Plan (EAP) to develop the internal evaluation of the program. Initially, the aim is to characterize research in Brazil and how Scientific Initiation (SI) fits into the country, and then to present the context of UFJF, where an analysis of the program was conducted between the years 2017 and 2021. Next, the aim is to understand the importance of research as a formative element and how the evaluation of institutional programs is carried out through the literature. As the applied methodology, a qualitative approach was chosen, in which interviews were conducted with people who worked in the program at the institution and analyses of regulations and processes governing the SI were carried out, thus seeking to answer the initial question presented. From the analysis conducted, it was found that the evaluation of SI at the institution, regarding its administrative competence, occurs informally and unsystematically. In the end, an EAP was presented in which a proposal was developed to improve the program's evaluation, considering its three stages.
