Educação Sexual: Um direito fundamental para o desenvolvimento integral da criança e do adolescente

Abstract

This study aims to analyze sexual education as a fundamental right for the integral development of children and adolescents, highlighting its relevance in a context marked by high rates of sexual crimes, adolescent pregnancy, and sexual exploitation. Based on the Theory of Integral Protection, grounded in the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), the research explores how the evolution of legal norms has promoted greater protection and recognition of sexual freedom, reflecting the new family configuration.The study discusses sexual rights as a form of empowerment, enabling children and adolescents to understand their rights regarding their bodies, relationships, and reproductive health. Sexual education is presented as an essential tool not only for preventing abuse but also for promoting autonomy and responsibility, empowering young people to make informed decisions.The implementation of sexual education programs in schools is analyzed as a crucial strategy to ensure that all young people have access to information about consent, sexual diversity, and reproductive health. Such programs should be inclusive and tailored to diverse cultural and social realities, ensuring that everyone feels respected and represented.To facilitate the study, a methodology of bibliographic review and qualitative analysis of normative documents was adopted, allowing for a deeper understanding of the current context. The research highlights how sexual education is fundamental to ensuring that children and adolescents fully exercise their rights, contributing to the construction of a safer and healthier future. Reflection on these themes is essential to promote a culture of respect and dignity, which is fundamental to the social and individual development of young people.
