Utilização de laminados cerâmicos na reabilitação de pacientes com hábitos parafuncionais: revisão de literatura

Abstract

Patients with parafunctional habits often manifest aesthetic and even functional impairment of oral tissues. Given the growing demand for aesthetics patterns nowadays, a major challenge faced is the rehabilitation of these individuals, ensuring satisfactory health and appearance. The use of ceramic laminates has been growing with increasing access to these noblest materials, and mainly due to the high success and satisfaction rates they provide. Despite the amount of benefits and because they are included among the best choices in cases of rehabilitation with veneers, ceramics have the disadvantage of demanding a high cost. The present study aims to review the literature evaluating the application of the use of ceramic laminates in the treatment of patients with parafunctional habits. Articles in Portuguese and other foreign languages from the period 2019 to 2024 were searched in the Pubmed, Scielo and LILACS databases. Ceramic veneers are currently an excellent alternative of treatment in Aesthetic Dentistry, however there is divergence in the literature regarding their indication in patients with parafunctional habits.
