Agora estamos no paraíso! ”: possibilidades e limites do turismo de base comunitária quilombola em Fervedouro - MG

Abstract

Located in Fervedouro - MG, the Paraíso community is in the process of quilombola certification. At the same time, it was investigated in exploratory qualitative research with the main objective of identifying and analyzing the limits and possibilities of implementing community-based tourism projects (TBC) to substantiate their development. In a specific context, we sought to understand the concepts that guide TBC to support the analysis of the community, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats. Finally, we sought to understand the significance of the Paraíso community, the Serra do Brigadeiro State Park and the Brigadeiro Caparaó Trail and how they can come together to offer strong and sustainable regional tourism. The present research, therefore, consisted of a study that used as a method the approach to residents following a semi-structured script for conversation in the target audience's own territory. After analyzing the data, it was found that the necessary characteristics are present, at the same time that some limits and challenges also present themselves, requiring the development of strategies for the implementation of TBC in the locality and resulting in the endogenous development that it desires.
