A liderança em enfermagem e sua influência no ambiente da prática profissional: um estudo em três regiões do Brasil

Abstract

Leadership is an essential skill in the workplace. The leader can contribute to making the professional practice environment positive for professionals. Transformational leadership is one of the theories that covers human relations and the work context, seeking to use influence and motivation to guide those being led to achieve their goals. The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of nurse leaders in the practice environment in three regions of the country, discussing it from the perspective of transformational leadership. This is a cross sectional, multicenter, analytical study with a quantitative approach. The data was collected in hospitals in three regions of Brazil using the Practice Environment Scale as one of the instruments, which assesses the professional nursing practice environment. The total mean of the results showed that the majority of professionals agreed that leaders agreed that leaders have a good performance, however the data differ when comparing the mean of each of the hospitals. It was concluded that the hospitals had a favorable environment for nursing practice in terms of leadership and that the presence of a leader contributes positively to this factor.
