Laminados cerâmicos: relação entre tipos de preparo e longevidade – revisão de literatura

Abstract

Ceramic laminates are restorative procedures that deserve to be highlighted in contemporary dentistry, since they can reproduce beauty, naturalness and functionality similar to natural teeth. The search for aesthetic parameters hás increased considerably in recent decades, simultaneously leading to a greater demand for restorative treatments that provide a harmonious smile. Ceramic systems can provide several desirable characteristics in oral rehabilitation, such as translucency, Chemical stability, a coefficient of thermal expansion close to that of natural tooth structure, low thermal conductivity, biological compatibility and high compressive strength. The aim of this study was to investigate the types of preparation that influence the longevity and success of treatment with this material. A literature review was carried out to find techniques that increase the performance and durability of the material in the oral cavity, reducing the likelihood of failures by the dental surgeon and contributing to a desirable long-term outcome.
