O projeto político do povo negro para o Brasil: narrativas políticas e identitárias de uma nação “igualmente imaginada”

Abstract

The context of the refoundation of Brazilian democracy brings, among its main innovations, the inclusion of black people in the structuring of the national project. In view of this, in this thesis I analyze how the racial issue came to be incorporated into the construction of the nation. To do so, I examine this debate both through documentation written by black intellectuals and activists and government records. In this way, it is a research that investigates not only the framework of redemocratization and the National Constituent Assembly, but also the process of elaboration of new imaginaries, which compose and resignify the nation in contemporary times.
