Em algum lugar na tela e além do arco-íris: representação e representatividade LGBTQIA+ no programa “Amor & Sexo”

Abstract

LGBTQIA+ representation and representativity have been the focus of contemporary studies from the perspective of the humanities and social sciences. The purpose of this master's thesis is to understand to what extent the presence of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transgenders, queers, intersexuals, agenders and other LGBTQIA+ bodies could have influenced shifts in how the discussions about sexuality and gender are shaped in a TV program. The empirical object consists on editions of the entertainment television show "Amor & Sexo", aired by Rede Globo between 2011 and 2018. The objective of the research is to evaluate, qualitatively and quantitatively, the participation of enunciators invited by the television production. Through Audiovisual Materiality Analysis (AMA), a method proposed by Iluska Coutinho (2016), and in-depth semi-structured interviews with members of the TV show's creative team, the aim is to understand whether these presences on screen symbolize a more diverse media occupation of standpoints and if there are, in fact, transformations in the debates that refer to LGBTQIA+ causes, especially since the second half of the 2010s.
