O campo artístico arquitetônico brasileiro ligado à religiosidade: caso do apagamento das pinturas parietais da Igreja Nossa Senhora Aparecida, Muriaé - MG

Abstract

Through an approach based on bibliographical research and case analysis, the investigation of how elements connect and influence culture and society is carried out. The study covers points such as the understanding of the Catholic Church from the scholastic philosophy and how it was directed to reconcile reason, faith and the catechism of the faithful, architecture as aesthetics and religious symbolism, also the relationship between sacred and everyday spaces in Brazilian cities, involving the national historical and artistic heritage. Together with the analysis of the case of erasure of the paintings that illustrated the Via Sacra referring to the Nossa Senhora Aparecida church located in the city of Muriaé.
