Educação, comunicação e extensão: cine sapatão e roda LesBiTrans como estratégias de socialização e transgressão de mulheres lésbicas

Abstract

This research investigated the contribution of extension actions developed in a university film club, the Cine Sapatão and Roda LesBi, later named Roda LesBiTrans, for the promotion of the Rights to Education and Communication of lesbian and bisexual women. The activities were part of a project of the Research Group on Education, Communication and Feminisms - Flores Raras - from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (FACED-UFJF), and included meetings in which audiovisual works that portray lesbian and bisexual women were exhibited and debated. In this study, these subjects are understood as a population that still does not have representation and education ensured, and thus, the objective was to know the relationship of the activities of watching and debating with the search for rights. To make this possible, comprehensive interviews were conducted with five participants of the sessions. The data obtained from the dialogue with these women about their relations with the university, with cinema, and about their experiences with the extension actions were analyzed in the light of feminist theories, lesbian thinkers, and works of reference from Education and Communication. The reports point out that the practices of the film club contributed to the elaboration of strategies of socialization and transgression that turn to the claiming of rights in higher education, in cinema, and in other spaces. It is understood that the participation of the students was relevant for the permanence of those who had already entered the institution, as well as there is evidence that the events disseminated, held with institutional support and open to the public, contribute to lesbian visibility, favoring the strengthening of them in the institution and constituting evidence, for those who wish to enter, that there is room for them in the university.
