Adoecimento e sofrimento mental dos assistentes sociais resultante do trabalho no capitalismo: uma revisão bibliográfica

Abstract

The present work to conclude the specialization course Social Work, Social Policies and Internship Supervision Process aimed to study how work and its precariousness process currently affects the mental and physical health of the social worker affects their mental health and / or physical. For this purpose, the history of the profession inserted in the socio-technical division of labor and its organization of work in capitalist society was briefly addressed. The work category has a central focus, understood as a founding element of human sociability and as an important producer and reproducer of the capital accumulation process. With the transformations in the world of work, capital has been metamorphosed to preserve its structures of domination and exploitation of work, aggravating the contradictions in class society and bringing drastic and severe consequences for the class that lives off work. The precariousness of work and the dismantling of rights historically won by the working class are a striking expression that has been worsening in contemporary transformations in the world of work. The consequences of precarious work conditions bring new outlines to the workers' way of life and thus restructure a new profile for the working class in Brazil. Thus, the importance of the discussion about the precariousness of the work of social workers is emphasized, not least because the literature on this reality is still scarce. We analyzed articles from a specific period (2009-2019) and we could see that the existing bibliography is focused on discussing the insertion and work of the social worker in mental health services. Finally, we conclude that the social worker faces a complex reality with several negative impacts, highlighting the illness, in her professional and personal life, caused by precarious work, which is increasingly present in her working realities.
