Análise da atuação do CFESS/CRESS através de seus representantes nos conselhos de política pública: limites e possibilidades

Abstract

This paper aims to clarify the need for contributions from representatives of the Social Assistance Council - CFESS / CRESS, in public instances of social participation, with emphasis on social assistance policy councils at the national, state and municipal levels. To this end, we present the assumptions resulting from social struggles that have an impact on the democratization of the state and the legislation that has ensured social control since the Federal Constitution of 1988. Participation in social assistance councils has been incorporated by various professions, including , that of Social Work. We indicate the enormous challenges / limits posed to effect social participation in public policies in the current conjuncture. The enlargement of the public sphere, the strengthening of democratic instances and the guarantee of social rights are challenges posed to professionals who refer to a societal project based on the defense of autonomy, freedom, equity and social justice, as real conditions for the exercise of their rights. citizenship in a democratic society. In this sense, it is important to reflect on the representation of Social Work as “social workers” in the National, State and Municipal Councils of Social Assistance, analyzed here, respectively in the State of Minas Gerais and in the city of Juiz de Fora. . It is also intended to clarify the possibilities in the representation of the CFESS / CRESS group to contribute to the strengthening of the councils and / or its various segments, starting from the defense of democracy and the economic, social, civil, political rights, essential dimensions for the full enjoyment of human rights.
