As comissões da verdade no Brasil e a construção de narrativas sobre a repressão a pessoas LGBT durante a ditadura militar

Abstract

This research proposes to investigate the way in which Truth Commissions in Brazil incorporated into their work the repression of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites, transexuals and transgenders directed by the State during the military dictatorship, based on the analysis of the reports and documents produced by the Brazilian commissions (specifically from the National Truth Commission and the state commissions of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the only ones to discuss the topic), recordings of public hearings made on the issue and the testimony of participants in this initiative. From this, the objective is to ascertain how these mechanisms received the narratives about the repression to LGBT people. It is also of interest to discuss which place in the debate about human rights in Brazil is reserved to these subjects and what the framings made by the commissions can indicate about the construction of memory policies on the dictatorship.
