dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to understand the preferential attachment sites of the Amblyomma rotundatum in Rhinella schineiri toads, as well as the population dynamics of these ticks in a region of the Brazilian Cerrado biome during the period from January 2018 to march, 2019. We compared the distribution of the different stages of the Amblyomma rotundatum on the tegument of the amphibians by analyzing its breadth and overlap. We observed a preference of the immature stages by the dorsum, vocal sack and lateral line, while adults were widely distributed. However, we found that those preferences are influenced by the presence of other stages. We also found an absence of seasonality, contrary to the behavior commonly observed in neotropical Amblyomma species.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO objetivo deste trabalho foi entender os sítios de fixação preferencias de Amblyomma rotundatum em Rhinella schineiri, bem como a dinâmica populacional deste carrapato em uma região de Cerrado brasileiro durante o período de janeiro de 2018 a março de 2019. Comparamos a distribuição dos diferentes estágios de A. rotundatum sobre o tegumento dos anfíbios por meio de análises de amplitude e de sobreposição. Observamos preferência dos estágios imaturos pelo dorso, saco vocal e linha lateral, enquanto adultos foram amplamente distribuídos. Entretanto, foi verificado que a preferência é influenciada pela presença de um segundo ou terceiro estágio. Também verificamos ausência de sazonalidade, comportamento contrário ao comumente encontrado em espécies de Amblyomma neotropicais.pt_BR
