Escritos mínimos: flanar, observar, clicar, capturar instantes

Abstract

This dissertation seeks to create a dialogue between a series of authors and artists who approached how to capture moments lived not only as an artistic product, but as a form of intervention in daily life. It all starts from the premise that we are all captured by moments of “astonishment” and “dazzle” as we go through life. Somehow, these moments might got lost between the immediacy of time and our accustomed gaze to the wholeness as opposed to the details. Therefore, some proceedings are approached to deferring the perceptions of the subject, such as strolling, the careful observations of moments, “clicking” moments through a photographic look, and the desire to write about our lives. Such actions provide openness for questioning the routine and what we call “banal” in life, since art and literature offer us space for reflection that allows us to rethink the world as a place of encounters. The thematic sewing of the text occurs through an affective selection of references that activates the author of the dissertation as someone who also captures points of interest between readings and moments of life. This reflects the last part of this dissertation where, as an exercise informed by these readings, some texts, called “minimal writings” are presented, as well as photographs taken during the two years in which this research was developed.
