Vozes dos silêncios: narrativas de jovens filhos de imigrantes guianenses em Boa Vista-RR

Abstract

This thesis presents the results of the PhD in Education for the Term of Technical Cooperation between the Federal University of Juiz de For a (UFJF) and Federal University of Roraima (UFRR) and the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Roraima (IFRR).The objective of the research was to know the challenges faced by the descendants of Guyanese immigrants in their process of educational inclusion in Boa Vista-RR. Based on the narrative research were conducted interviews with eight young people of Guyanese origin. The interviews followed a semi-structured script and were recorded in audio, with the proper authorization of the subjects, through the Informed Consent Term (TCLE). They were young people over 18 years of age, four men and four women, students of Regular Education, Youth and Adult Education and Higher Education. All the interviewees live in neighborhoods of the western zone of the municipality of Boa Vista and study or have studied in public schools. The research was carried out: presentation, reading and signing of the term, visits, interviews and return, when necessary, and also the registration in Field Diary. Next, the narratives were constructed. The text brings the state of Roraima from the historical-geographical point of view. I present the narratives dialoguing with the theory regarding migration and legislation pertinent to the theme, public educational policies, inclusion, exclusion and identity. I conclude with questions pointed out in the silenced voices of the young narrators, revealing the situations of prejudice, bullying and exclusion. The narratives motivate reflections in order to break up silences and prejudices, as well as continuing the research paths.
