Resgate à memória popular e reivindicação dos espaços urbanos: Um olhar sobre o bairro Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Juiz de Fora - MG

Abstract

This work aims to record the memories that constituted the Nossa Senhora de Fátima neighborhood, located in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, and discuss the impacts of free urban spaces in the maintenance of the sense of community. The methods used for this monograph were unsystematic observation and indirect documentation; through them, it was possible to confirm the initial hypothesis that generated the research. Since the only leisure area in the neighborhood was lost, the residents distanced themselves from each other and their identification with the region where they live. In this context, it is necessary to conceive a project proposition that favors the meeting and the interpersonal interaction through leisure areas. By this, we can reclaim those spaces on behalf of the population and retake the identification between residents and the neighborhood.
